Pamela Sue Parris, 63 of Kansas City, Kansas, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and close friends on January 21, 2018.


Pamela was born December 4, 1954 in Kansas City. She was one of five siblings: Leon “Junior”, Mark, Marty (Vicki) and Amye (Mike). She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Parris; her step daughter, Becky and her brother, Junior: She is survived by three children: Luke, Adam (Catherine) and Megan (Derek), four step children: Darryl (Kendra), Carolyn (Jim), Mary (Sammy) and Curtis (Andrea). She was a loving grandmother to fifteen grandchildren.


Pamela was a registered nurse for 30 years. She spent over 20 years at Bethany Medical Center working in the emergency room until it closed in 2001. After receiving her master’s degree in 2009, she taught at Donnelly College and worked as the director of nursing at a couple of different nursing homes in the greater Kansas City area. She had a passion for mentoring and helping others grow their nursing skills.


Pamela was a fighter and spent this last year battling cancer. She loved sunflowers, relaxing on the water, camping and most of all spending time with her family.
