OBITUARY: GEORGE WASHINGTON MOORE
George Washington Moore, 79, of Flemington, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born September 22, 1938, in Franklin Township, OH, a son of the late Samuel Moore and Anna Mary (Pennington) Moore.
On April 5, 1969, he was united to marriage to the former Mary Ann Mayle who survives at their home.
Also surviving is one daughter, Tina (Keith) Moore-Killoran, Taylor, MI and two God Children, Emily Parks and Nathaniel Parks, both of Clarksburg.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Daretha Qualls; by one brother, Clyde LeMaster and by several half brothers and sisters.
Mr. Moore was retired from Great Lakes Steel and was a minister ordained by the World Reap for Christ. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Chapel at Clarksburg. He enjoyed attending church, preaching the Gospel, traveling the country, singing and playing the guitar. He enjoyed doing yard work, sitting on the porch or in the doorway of his “man cave” and generally being outdoors. He loved to joke and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 966 South Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Patty Post will officiate and interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Saturday.
