WATERTOWN, N.Y. — A memorial Service for Richard E. Abrams, 61, of 114 Franklin St., will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the DPAO building, Davidson St. Watertown.
Mr. Abrams died Monday, March 26, at his home of heart failure.
Born May 3, 1945, in Locust Valley, Long Island, to Clarence and Evelyn Abrams, he was raised by Harold and Marie Boehm of Long Island and graduated from school there.
Mr. Abrams worked for the Disabled Persons Action Organization as a fundraiser from 1983 to 1995.
Mr. Abrams enjoyed 1950s music, trivia, reading, wrestling and NASCAR.
He is survived by three brothers, Allen Abrams, Smithtown, Long Island, Robert Schlitt, Saranac Lake, and Ronnie Schlitt, Chittenango; four sisters Sarah Newton, Oxford, N.C., Alice Kom, Odessa, Texas, Doris Chelune, Saline, MI, Barbara Anne Tynon, Massena; two foster brothers Ronnie Boehm, Fla., and Howard Cramer, Long Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife Linda (Lee) Abrams, a brother Edward Abrams and a foster brother Harry Boehm.
There are no calling hours. His body was cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Woodside Cemetery, Belleville.
