NEW BUFFALO - Pershing H. "Bob" Helms Sr., 71, 18327 Ridge Road New Buffalo, died Thursday at St Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point, Ind.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kerley, Starks and Smith Funeral Home, New Buffalo, where friends may call Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
Mr. Helms was born July 18, 1918, in Arkansas.
Survivors include: his wife, the former Mary Moore; two sons Billy of Clarksville, Ark. and Pershing "Hubert" Jr. of New Buffalo; three daughters Dollie "Cookie" Jumche of Michigan City, Ind, Joan Wyse of New Buffalo and Mary Walden of Michigan City, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two brothers Mark of West Helena, Ark. and Diamond of Springdale, Ark.; and two sisters Gracie Strawn of Helena, Ark. and Jean Forrester of Taylorsville, N.C.
