Dorothy A. Lamb, 67, of the 500 block of Avondale, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Maryview Medical Center.

Mrs. Lamb was born in Norfolk County to the late Albert T. and Fidella Alexander. She was teacher/director of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church Child Development Center, where she had been a member for 45 years. She served on the Women's Usher Board, Gleaners and was a member of the May Birth Month Club. She was also a den mother for the Girl Scouts at Bank Street.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore Lamb Sr.; a daughter, Gail Lamb Whitfield of Portsmouth; two sons, Theodore "Ted" Lamb Jr. of Portsmouth and Thaddaeus A. Lamb Sr. and his wife, Valerie, of Lawton, Okla.; four grandchildren, LaTeisha Whitfield, Thaddaeus Lamb Jr., Timothy Whitfield and Jasmine Lamb; three sisters, Virginia Robinson and her husband, Surley, of Norfolk, Ruth A. Lewis and her husband, Paul, and Barbara Bradley of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren and many friends. She also was predeceased by a son, Timothy Lamb, and a brother, Albert T. Alexander Jr.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Cedric Kirkland-Harris. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
