Gloria Ritter Davey, beloved wife of Jack Davey, died peacefully between 3:00 and 5:00 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2006. She was born in New Orleans, LA, September 7, 1927. She achieved a B.S. degree in Nursing from LSU, married in 1950 and was a terrific mother to her two children: Candace Jean Davey and Dr. Kent Ritter Davey. She has three grandchildren: Adrian Davey, Zachary Shawn Davey, and Masha Jacqueline Davey and is the sister of Peggy Ritter Heck of St. Bernard/Ponchatoula. Gloria is the daughter of the late Eugene Albery Ritter and Elizabeth Ahten Ritter.
Gloria worked as a registered nurse at Veterans Hospital-Lakeside, Charity Hospital and West Jefferson Hospital Emergency Room. She was a girl scout leader, an exercise leader for NORD, a member of the Aurora Garden Club, a cub boy scout leader, was active in local public schools, an active member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church and a square dancer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 12:00 noon.
