She was born on July 28, 1935, in Ansonia, Ohio, the daughter of the late Doyt and Bessie Lou (Smith) Downing. On October 30, 1951, she married Donald Eugene Kreischer who died on January 5, 2008. Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Delores Darwood.
Family survivors include her two sons, Donald E. (Lisa) Kreischer, Jr. of Paulding and Jason C. (Amy) Kreischer of Scott; a sister, Marjorie Snyder of Delphos; six grandchlidren, Bryce Kreischer, Tracie (Jeff) Taylor, Caleb (Tifanie) Kreischer, Joshua Kreischer, Kimberly Kreischer and Rachael Kreischer; and four great grandchildren, Jaxon, Gavin and Leighton Kreischer and Connor Taylor.
Mary was a long time member of Calvary Evangelical Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She worked at Aeroquip (Eaton) for 19 years and at the Scott Post Office for 23 years.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Williman of Calvary Evangelical Church officiating. Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 2 - 6 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Calvary Evangelical Church.
