She was born March 20, 1907 in Port Leyden, N.Y., daughter of Michael and Mary O'Keefe Dempsey and was graduated from St. Aloyisius Academy in Rome. She was married to Robert Riggles in 1934 in St. Peter's Church, Rome. He died in 1974. Mrs. Riggles was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Patricia) Lamandia, Utica, Miss Shirley Riggles, New Hartford, Mrs. George (Mary) Kazanjian, New Hartford, Mrs. Peter (Agnes) Galle, Rochester, two sons, Michael of Interlaken, N.Y. and David of Utica. She was predeceased by one son, Robert A. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Freeman, Rome. Mrs. Ella Brun, Utica, Mrs. Therese Converse, New Hartford; three brothers, Bernard Dempsey and John Dempsey, both of Rome and Charles Dempsey of Pittsburg, PA. She was predeceased by one brother and two sisters. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Monday at 10:30 at teh Friedel and Williams Funeral Home, Inc., Cort at York Sts., and at 11:00 at St. Francis DeSales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery . Friends may call on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9.
