Rowena May Adams was born in Missouri to Eugene L. Lyons and Rowena B. Crawford in 1886. She married Frederick W. Adams in Switzerland County Indiana in 1901 and they had 2 children, Norman (1902) and Marvel (1904). The 1910 census shows they were living in Cincinnati; and that Rowena's parents, brother (David) and sister (Eugenia) were living with them. By the 1920 census, Fred and his family had moved to Cumberland, MD, where Fred was working as a salesman. Fred became ill during the '20s and returned to Cincinnati, but Rowena continued living in the Pittsburgh area. She died in the Mayview Hospital of hypertensive disease in 1947.
