Dazey continued writing throughout his life, including the novel "The Old Flute Player: A Romance of Today," in 1910. He also contributed some of his wealth toward philanthropic projects. He funded the first public library in Fargo, North Dakota. He donated land toward the building of a town which became Dazey, North Dakota.
