George Alexander Brown was the son of James Thomas Alexander Brown from Mississippi and Emma Minnie Speegle from Alabama.

His father, James Thomas Alexander Brown came west to Texas around 1885, where he met and married Emma Minnie Speegle in 1893. Emma's family had immigrated to Texas 25 years after the Civil War, sometime around 1890. Both of their fathers had fought in the Civil War.

George was a quiet man of strength whose wife Lottie Belle Harrelson was bed-ridden for years after giving birth to their son George Allen. He raised his son on a farm in the Nimrod Community where he farmed, worked in the General Store/Post Office, and delvivered the mail.

After his wife, Lottie died in 1943, he and his son George moved to Cisco where he began working in a service station and his son attended High School. He leased his own service station from Sinclair Oil in 1949 and managed it until he died in 1971.

He lived with his son George and family from around 1947 through 1963 when his son left Cisco for a job promotion. After 1963 George lived in a motel next to his business. He had many friends and relatives in the Nimrod community and in Cisco.
