Lena Jane Butler, 87, of Pensacola passed away Friday, February 2, 2018. Mrs. Butler was born in Old Hickory, TN to the late James H. and Irene H. Owens. She graduated from Jay High School in 1948 and from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in1951. Mrs. Butler retired from the State Health Department in 1985 and from Sacred Heart Hospital in 1995. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bellview. Survivors include her husband, Virgil H. Butler, Jr.; sons, Charles H. Butler (Toni), Paul L. Butler (Rose Ann) and Michael P. Butler (Wendy); daughter, Teresa J. Butler-Bamonte (Kevin); siblings, Flossie Lee Batson, James Homer Owen, Jr., Ruth Ann Kilpatrick, Thomas Edward Owens and Michael Anthony Owens; seven grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11 AM. Father George Sammut will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to St. Anne Catholic Church Building Fund.
