Known to all who knew and loved her as Poochie, she was born to the late George Henley and MayBelle Kenney Henley. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Alexander Kenney, Sr. and Louise Kenney; her father; brother, Russell Henley; and sister, Adlay Garland.

She enjoyed time with family and friends. She loved to dance and have a good time. She believed you should enjoy life to the fullest.

Left to cherish loving memories are, her mother, two daughters, Gwendolyn Henley and Thomasina Barbour, of Charlottesville, VA.; two sons, Russell D. Carter, of Kalamazoo, MI. and Augustus T. Anderson of Charlottesville, Va.; two grandchildren, Andrea Barbour and Toreke Barbour, both of Charlottesville, VA.; sister, Margaret Howard, of Charlottesville, VA.; long time devoted companion, Charlie Taylor; cousin, Phyllis Rush; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held at Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Ave., with the Reverend Mary Smith officiating.
