Altia M. Shackelford Prentiss, 81, passed away Thursday, February 08, 2018, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Ripley. She was born in Iuka, Miss. on July 28, 1936, to William Andrew and Nellie Bell Shackelford. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and word search puzzles. When she was able she loved to sew and cook for family gatherings. Altia also took time to enjoy the beauty of nature, watching birds, and telling stories of childhood memories.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Cagle officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Jackie “Jack” Prentiss, Chris Prentiss both of Booneville, Greg Prentiss (Laurie) of Hornlake, MS; daughters Brenda Pannell (Tim) of Rienzi and Annette Wilson of Booneville; grandchildren, Lindsey Tackett, Dylan Prentiss, Amanda Prentiss, Amber Prentiss, Jackie Prentiss, Caleb Prentiss, Samantha Wilson, and Alex Franks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Prentiss; her parents; a brother, Elmon Shackelford; a sister, Georgia Cissiom; a grandson, Joey Phelps; and a great-grandson, Ryan Tackett.
