Funeral services for Willie P. Beaird, 83, were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today in the Bailey Memorial Chapel here with the Rev. Charles Cowley officiating. Burial was to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Elkhart.

Mr. Beaird, a retired farmer in the Elkhart area, died Monday morning in a Houston hospital.
Grandsons who were to serve as pallbearers today were Ray Tate, Lester Beaird, Roy Dean Beaird, Jerry Beaird, Jimmy Beaird and L. E. Reeves.

Mr. Beaird is survived by his widow, Mrs. Beulah Beaird of Porter; three sons, W. O. Beaird of Camas, Washington, W. P. Beaird of Weldon, and Arnold Beaird of Porter; two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Tate of Grapeland and Mrs. Edward Cummings of Elkhart; a brother, Walter Beaird of Rusk; four sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mayes of Rusk, Mrs. Lillie Pearman of Jacksonville, Mrs. Jewell Turner of Baton Rouge, La., and Mrs. Lela Singletary of Rusk; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
