Richard Allen Rains, Passed away at his home in Rockwall, Texas.

He was born June 26, 1959 in Garden City, Kansas to Charles Dempsey and Margie D`Ann (McVey) Rains.

Richard attended schools in Kansas and Arkansas, He was a 1977 graduate of Oxford High School in Oxford, Arkansas.

During the summer of 1977 Richard joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Blytheville, Arkansas as a Security Policeman. He later served in Rimini, Italy for 3 years. In 1982 he returned to the states and trained in avionics. While stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV, he received an award for submitting a significant cost reduction suggestion to the Air Force. In 1987 he received an honorable discharge from the Air Force.

On September 14, 1996 Richard married the love of his life, Miss Holly G. Newman at Marianna, Arkansas.

In 1998 he retired from the Air Force Reserves.

Richard continued pursuing his interest in computers and networking while working for a number of large networking companies before stating his own company in 2003.

Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his two sons.

He also enjoyed racing cross country motorcycles.

Richard was a member of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Terrell, Texas and was also active in the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and the LCM Group.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Timothy E. and Bessie (Lawson) Rains, and William Ray and Donna (Springer) McVey.

Survivors include his wife Holly: his sons Richard Allen Rains Jr. (RJ) and Howard Thomas Rains (Howie) of the home: his parents, Charles Dempsey and Margie Rains of Russellville, AR: sisters Marjeana Taylor and husband Ronnie of Pottsville, AR and Traci D`Raye Tabor and husband Donnie of Russellville, AR; brothers, Rev. Randy Rains and wife Suzi of Farmington, MO, and Tim Rains and wife Julie of Lakin, KS: and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Wednesday Jan. 18th. 2006 at 10am , at The First Baptist Church at Salem, Arkansas. Officiated by, Rev. Robert McBride, and Rev. John Hodges. Songs by Janet & Brenda Singleton.

Pallbearers were Randy, Tim, Andy, Aaron Rains Donnie Tabor, and Allen Engel.

Honorary Pallbearer Adam Rains.
