MERIDEN - Lillian Reiner, 84, wife of the late Harold Reiner Sr., died Friday night, July 17, 1998, in the St. Elizabeth Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., Dec. 28, 1913, a daughter of the late Charles and Christine Andrews Kreuscher. She was a resident of Meriden for the past 48 years. She had been a resident of 108 Hall Ave., for the past 20 years. During the 1950s she owned and operated a pet store on West Main Street in Meriden. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and she was active in the Meriden Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and James R. Reeves Sr. of Cheshire and Marilyn and Donald Miller of Martha's Vineyard; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Linda Reiner Jr. of Darien; eight grandchildren, Wesley Barba, Teri Barba, Tracy Barba, Lisa Goleblewski, James R. Reeves Jr., Tiffany Reeves, Krista Reiner, and Keith Reiner; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, July 20, 1998, in the First Congregational Church, Colony Street, at 10 a.m. She will be buried next to her husband in Walnut Grove Cemetery. There will be calling hours in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street Sunday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m.
