Born Oct. 20, 1929 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of George Edgar and Agnes (Torr) Braden.
A 1947 graduate of Greencastle High School, she worked in the finance department at DePauw University for more than 20 years until retiring. She was a member of First Christian Church, DePauw Retirees Club, Putnam County Hospital Guild, Mother's Club and Christian Women's Fellowship.
Surviving are a son, Alan Sears and wife Diane, Colorado; daughter Karen Arnold and husband Ed, Stilesville; sister Norma Cook, Greencastle, brothers George Braden and wife Betty, Speedway, Howard Braden, Tennessee, John Braden, Greencastle, and Jim Braden and wife Von, Greencastle; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
