William "Billy" Guy, 79, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 after a brief illness. A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Billy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Earl Monroe Guy and Ruth Bryant Guy. He was retired from the Bibb County Sheriff's Department after thirty years of service at the rank of Major. He was awarded many distinguished awards including Deputy of the Year in 1976. Billy had many hobbies but most notably was known for his passion of rebuilding automobiles. After his retirement his passion culminated with the complete restoration of his prized 1937 Buick which took home numerous awards. He enjoyed spending time at their mountain cabin in Blairsville, GA and enjoyed all the many cultural activities the mountains had to offer.
