(1938 - 2018)
Richard Paul Hastings, 79, passed away February 13, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was born May 23, 1938 in Oklahoma City to Roy Baker Hastings and Dessie Bell Keefer Hastings. Richard was a loving husband, father and Pappy.
He enjoyed dancing, music and playing dominos. He served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years. Richard taught all his kids how to saddle and ride horses and gave all the grandkids their first horse ride. He loved roping with his two sons. He taught all the kids and grandkids how to drive. Richard made dentures for 20 plus years and learned from Pete Harmon. He loved going to kids and grandkids sporting events. Richard always reminded people of a gentle giant with a smile.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Paula Hastings; and grandson, Connor Lucas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Ann Hastings; children: Jane Carpenter and her husband Eddie, Theresa Barkhimer and her husband Keith, Dick Hastings and his wife, Karon, Trish Parker and her husband, Rusty, Beth Boles and her husband Brent, and Loren Hastings and his wife, Beth; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Hastings and his wife, Clydette; sisters, Carolyn Hastings and Jeannie Dansereau and her husband, AJ; 3 nieces and nephews and numerous extended family.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Primrose Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Primrose Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Moore City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
