Anna passed away peacefully from this earth to her heavenly home on Feb 10th, 2018 at Baylor Medical Center.
She was born February 26, 1928 in Bells, TX to D.T. and Leta Morgan McElligott. Anna married the love of her life Wilson H. Tarpley on July 23rd, 1955 in Bells, TX. They shared 42 wonderful years together before his passing in 1997. She is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dan McElligott and Jimmy McElligott and sister, Lois Everheart.
Anna is survived by her son, Jeff Tarpley and wife Susanna of Frisco, TX; daughter, Jan Tarpley of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Will and Kate of Frisco, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.
Anna was a graduate of Bells High School, received a teaching degree from North Texas State Teachers College (now UNT) and her Masters from East Texas State College (now A&M-Commerce). She retired after 30 years of teaching in May 1986 with her last teaching assignment being in Wills Point, TX. Anna was active among both the community of retired teachers within Van Zandt County and the First Baptist Church of Canton.
Ann taught both first grade in Wills Point and a Sunday school class with younger children with her husband. More importantly, she also ministered to those in need both spiritually and physically over the years regardless of whether they were friend or family and will continue to live through the lives everyone she touched.
