Born in East Liverpool, Jan. 15, 1969, he was the son of the late Carl Richard "Dick" Adney. A member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1987, he then graduated from Ohio University with a degree in electrical engineering. He then began a successful career in the aeronautical engineering field where he worked for many leading companies. For many years, he lived in Texas where he worked at the Johnson Space Center. He most recently worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut as a systems engineer.
Kurt was an Eagle Scout, a Master Councilor of DeMolay, George T. Wilson Chapter in Wellsville and was an officer in the Ohio State DeMolay. He was a member of the Negley Masonic Lodge #565, Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Freemasonry, 32 Degree, Houston, Texas, and the Shriners Freemasonry, Arabia Lodge. He also held membership in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers and a life member of the VFW.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, as well as a sister and a brother
Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4-7 p.m. Pastor Kenny Maylone will conduct a funeral service Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
