Frederick Tracy, son of Anna Hinkley (1716–1801) and Joseph Tracy (1706–1787), was born August 3, 1749, at Norwich, Connecticut. He married Deborah Thomas, his fourth cousin. (Hyde Genealogy, p. 215.) Their children include:
1. Henry, born November 23, 1773
2. Charles, born July 23, 1775
3. Anne, born April 7, 1778
4. Mary, born April 2, 1780
5. Edward, born March 2, 1782
6. Elizabeth, born March 7, 1784
7. Margaret, born March 5, 1787
8. Frederick A, born October 25, 1789

"NEW-LONDON, Nov. 19. Last Saturday night the weather being thick, Capt. Frederick Tracy, in the brig Nancy, belonging to Norwich, bound in from the West-Indies, ran ashore on the beach near the Light-House, (the lamps not being lighted) ; the cargo is saved, and the vessel since got off." (Independent Ledger, Boston, Massachusetts, November 29, 1784, p. 3.)
