Elsie Louise Assenheimer, 96, of Tiffin, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion.

Elsie was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Durham, North Carolina, to the late Harold E. and Margaret (Riley) Deaton. She married Carl F. Assenheimer II Dec. 27, 1941, in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Elsie is survived by her three children, Margaret “Peg” (Paul) Drake of Huron, Carl (Sue) Assenheimer III of Port St. John, Florida, and David Assenheimer of Tiffin; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Harold and John Deaton; two sisters, Pat Warren and Margaret Birch; and a granddaughter, Carly Assenheimer.

Elsie was a homemaker and also worked at Tiffin Glass House. She was a 1940 graduate of the Junior Home, where she grew up since the age of 9 and was a member of Tiffin AMVETS Auxiliary.

Burial will follow in Fairmont cemetery
