MRS. FIDELIA D. RAY.

Mrs. Fidelia D. Ray, widow of William Ray, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Albert G. Bickford, Tuesday morning. Mrs. Ray was the oldest woman resident of Wilmington. She was a sister of A. M. Bissell, who is the oldest Wilmingtonian, and who will be one hundred years on July 11 next.

Mrs. Ray was born March 20, 1812, one of the nine children of Asahel and Polly Bissell. Her birthplace was the old Bissell homestead now occupied by Frank E. Ray. She married William Ray about the year 1835 and they lived for many years on the Bissell place. Of their four children but two lived to maturity. These were Albert W., who died in 1870, and Frank E., who survives his mother.

The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, at the residence of Frank E. Ray.
