Plymouth, WI - Todd A. Abler, age 53 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018 after complications from Melanoma skin cancer.
He was born on November 7, 1964, in Fond du Lac, WI, to David J. Abler and the late Mary E. (Gulig) Abler.
He attended C.P.E.S. Catholic Grade Schools and New Holstein High School.
Todd was born into the car business, as his father ran a car dealership for many years. He loved cars. He enjoyed tinkering with them, fixing them, buying and selling them. He had a deep passion for Mopar products. He was part of the Van Horn Automotive Group for over 30 years, serving many roles. Most recently he served as used car director for the group until 2016. Todd was instrumental in the growth of the organization with his great expertise in auction buying. Over the span of his career, Todd became a market expert at matching the specific needs of this market with a successful pricing model. Through Todd's leadership, his team rose to the top selling volume group in the state. Todd enjoyed a long and successful career in the car business and will be deeply missed by all his colleagues.
Todd had a passion for helping family, friends and people he didn't even know. His heart was always in the right place. His family and friends benefited from his culinary interest as he was always preparing some kind of extravagant dish for them to enjoy. Todd spent time with training horses for harness racing as well as driving around with his four- legged buddies, Baxter and Bear. He and Debbie enjoyed many trips to Florida and Costa Rica as well as other parts of the world. During their adventures, they always met new friends along the way. Then again, life with Todd was always an adventure!
He is survived by his fiancée, Debbie Bruggink-Phillips and son, Tyler (grandson, Everest); father, David J. Abler of Mt. Calvary, daughter, Tierra Pinson; His brother and sisters, Craig Abler of Appleton, Sara (Don) Suckow of Plymouth, and Holly (Dennis) Freund of Johnsburg; His special dogs: Baxter and Bear.
