Born in Casey County on Aug. 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Stanely and Mary Chapman Bryant.
She was a retired elementary school teacher after 37 years with the Casey County Board of Education.
She was a member of Liberty Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Mont Tarter; two daughters, Jennifer (and Steve) McKenzie of Frankfort and Kathy (and Ronnie) Long of Marion; a grandchild, Jessica Long; and an aunt, Winnie Brockman of Liberty.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Clements.
Funeral services were March 27 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bros. Bud Cain, Kenny Spaw, Doug Wesley and Jimmy Brown. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Garland Hoskins, Richard Montgomery, Mike Tarter, Drew Tarter, David Rains and Billy Hair.
