Miss Kathleen Maude Gleason, 86, of Canton passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital after being stricken at home.

Kathleen was born, January 23, 1932 in Canton; the daughter of the late Henry I. and Rose (Irish) Gleason. She graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School in 1950 and attended the Ogdensburg Business and Secretarial School in 1951. Kathleen began working for the late Attorney Richard C. Algie from 1951-1955 when she became employed by St. Lawrence University. Kathleen worked in the Department of Education and Placement Office until her retirement in 2001.

Surviving are a brother, H. Vernon Gleason; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

A sister, Evelyn June Aldous predeceased her.

Calling hours will be held at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 at the funeral home. Burial in the Stark Cemetery will take place in the spring.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Morley Wesleyan Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
