Elmer (Fritz) Ackerman passed peacefully at Welcome Home Feb. 2, 2018, at 102.

Fritz was born June 25, 1915 in New York City to Halcyon & Ethel Ackerman. Growing up in Los Angeles; Fritz's brothers and friends spent memorable days "shooting bottle caps." Fritz became a Machinist for Edcliff Instruments in Monrovia, until retirement. Monrovia was "homebase" for Fritz and wife, Elizabeth as they both worked & raised children & grandchildren. Fritz loved painting, airplanes and building anything.

They spent many trips to Redding before moving here to be close to family.

River Commons and Oakdale Heights were homes for 11 years, until Betty's passing in 2011. Fritz moving to Welcome Home in 2017.

Fritz was predeceased in death by wife of 39 years, Elizabeth, step-son Darwin Warner, and 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by step-daughter Beth, husband Gary. Grandchildren: Pamme Stanberry, husband Mike, Todd and Michael Field, Mark Warner, Bryan Warner, wife Tricia. Great-grandchildren: Delaney and Brandt Warner, Reyna Grace Field-Rocha. Daughter-in-law, Kathy Freund. Sister-in-law, Betty Ackerman.
