Rush Springs - LEO ANDREW SMITH, 74, of Rush Springs, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, in Chickasha.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Family Worship Center in Rush Springs, with the Rev. Edward Markham officiating. Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Leo was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Rush Springs, to James Wesley and Flora Lavania Curtis Smith. He graduated from Rush Springs High School and then joined the U.S. Army. He lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life.
Leo married Winona "Penny" Lindsey on June 16, 1951, in Rush Springs. He retired after 30 years of service for Halliburton.
He enjoyed gardening, working with animals and collecting carnival glass. Leo loved his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Family Worship Center, and was church treasurer and a trustee of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Smith of the home; a son, Roger Waylon Smith and wife Mitzi of Marlow; a daughter, Francene Coffman and husband Robert of Rush Springs; two grandchildren, Lebeth Voegeli and husband Jared of Chickasha, and Ben Coffman of Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tommy, Dan and Ray; and two sisters, Eris and Lavelle.
Bearers will be Wendel Savage, Dale Jones, Joe Knutz, Larry Williams Sr., Dave Miller and David Knutz.
Honorary bearers are Arnold Davis, Ervis Lester and Jim Barton.
