Born in Iran, Nahreen Ayvaz immigrated to Canada post-1979, after hardline Shia clerics overthrew the Shah and established a theocracy. Settling in Toronto with her sister, Shemiran, and many members of her immediate and extended family, she earned a university education and worked for many years in the media industry, mainly at Rogers Media and Corus Entertainment. An active member of the city’s thriving Assyrian community, beloved by many, she succumbed to complications from a stroke. Gone, but never forgotten she lives on in God's eternal love and grace.
