Joseph Eugene Gene Jacoby, age 91, passed away on February 17, 2018. Born in Carey, Ohio to John and Selora Jacoby, after high school he spent 2 years in the Navy during World War II. He then attended John Carrol University and in 1950 married Frances L. Jacoby of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Gene leaves his wife and their five children, Christina (the late Gregory) Welsh and Jerry Jacoby of Hamilton, Jenifer (Rick) Woolf of Beavercreek, JoEllen (David) Baugh of San Diego, Gregory (Pat) Jacoby of Indianapolis. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren have provided much joy and love to Gene. Family vacations, sailing, tennis and volunteering with the city and at his church were very special to him. His 37 year career with Nationwide Insurance led him to Connecticut, New Hampshire and Ohio. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 224 Dayton Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011 on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:30am with a visitation to begin at 10:30am at the church. Memorials may be made to Badin High School, Guardian Angel Fund, 571 New London Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
