David H. Alderson, 83-year-old fence builder, committed suicide at ll p.m. Tuesday at his home in Alpine. Fayette County Coroner John Miller and Sheriff Lester Enochs said Mr. Alderson shot himself in the head with a shotgun in the kitchen at his home. The aged man had been in ill health. Mr. Alderson's two sons, Albert and Raymond, who lived with their father, investigated after hearing the shot. He was born in Muncie on October 15, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Alderson, but had spent most of his life in the Alpine community. His wife, Mrs. Ada Scully Alderson, died eight years ago. Mr. Alderson was well-known in this section as a farm fence builder. In addition to the two sons at home he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Smith, of Connersville and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Rev. J. D. Kavich will conduct funeral services at IO a m. Friday at the Mosier and Sons Mortuary in Laurel where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Columbia Cemetery.
