Mr. Ambrose died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Lubbock.
He was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Belle Vernon, Pa., to Lawrence and Mary (Naccarto) Ambrose. He joined the United States 7th Air Force, serving during WWII in Hicomb Field, Hawaii. After being discharged in 1963, he moved to Lubbock. He married Teresa Kay Teeter on Feb. 14, 1979, in Lubbock and then moved to Abernathy.
He was employed at Continental Airlines for 31 years, then became employed with the City of Lubbock for the next 18 years, and was currently working for the Abernathy ISD.
He was involved in scouting, he volunteered as a leader, and he was a member of the VFW and the Cornerstone Family Church in Lubbock, where he served as deacon and usher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters; and a son, Rob Ambrose, in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Abernathy; a son, Coley and wife Rachel of Lubbock; a daughter, Randy Schlueter and husband Stan of Austin; a brother, Raymond, and two sisters, Virginia Comadena and Florence Comadena, all of Belle Vernon, Pa.; four grandchildren, Steven, Cyndi, Kristen and Mark; and six great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Cornerstone Family Church Building Fund, PO Box 98525, Lubbock., TX 79499
