Arlene M. Thompson,

age 96, of Canton, died Tuesday in Aultman Compassionate Care following a brief illness. A life resident of Canton she was the daughter of the late Blaine & Veronica (Hitz) Deierling. She was a 1939 graduate of Lehman High School and retired from Goodwill Industries & Rehabilitation Clinic. She was lifelong member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter's Ladies Guild/Women's Club and the Ritz Card Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: James Deireling and Robert Deierling. She is survived by her son: David Thompson of Canton; cousins: Cathy Kelty, Joan Temerson, Corinne Jibrail, Connie Fasano, Richard Martindale, John Martindale, Phyllis Levendusky, Michael Engler and Nancy Buwen. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
