Celesta Lea "Teddy"Apple passed away on February 6, 2018, in Rowlett, Texas. She was born on February 3, 1925, in Dardanelle, Arkansas to Alexander Dallas and Jasper Ann Bates. Teddy was a homemaker and attended Buckingham Road Church of Christ and previously Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She was an avid bowler well into her late 70's. Teddy also enjoyed gardening, baking, playing 42 and Sudoku and was a Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. She mostly cherished time spent with family and friends, young or old. Teddy was proceeded in death by her husband, Edgar "Ray" Apple; her parents, Alexander "Dallas" Bates and Jasper "Annie" Bates; her siblings, Ovnor Bates, Arthur Brown Bates, Montie Bates, Clestion "Pete" Bates, Freeman Bates, Advon "Shang" Bates and Addie Stephens. She is survived by her nieces, Phyllis Jackson, Grace Clark and Karen Jackson-Johnson; her nephews, Brent "Bubba" Jackson and Gregory Jackson; her sister, Frances Caldwell and a host of other family members and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 11:00am at Buckingham Road Church of Christ in Garland, Texas. Interment will follow later at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, Arkansas.
Teddy was an amazing person, who was loved by all whose lives she touched whether they knew her for a lifetime or for a moment. She will be missed greatly.
