Rieda M. Horrox, 100, of Freeland passed away Sunday at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums.
Born in Sandy Run, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Anthony) Fisher. She was a graduate of Foster Twp. High School, Class of 1939.
Rieda was employed as a cook and housekeeper on the Williams' farm, White Haven. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and caring for her family.
She was a member of St. John's Reformed United Church of Christ, Freeland, and volunteered at the church functions, especially their dinners and fundraisers. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars Rebekah Lodge 93 of Hazleton.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, William H. Horrox, who she married in 1944; brothers, Leverne, Donald, Charles and DelRoy Fisher; and sisters, Harriett Biehl and Geraldine Fisher.
Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine Hewlett and husband, Robert, Bloomsburg; a sister, Edna Drum, Drums; grandchildren, Mira A. Hewlett; Matthew N. Hewlett and wife, Lisa; and Douglas N. Hewlett and wife, Marissa. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Jack, Lilliana, Grace and Reid; and many nieces and nephews.
