FEBRUARY 8, 1961 ~ FEBRUARY 26, 2018 (AGE 57)

Mrs. Gloria Harriott Satterfield, 57, of Furman, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Trident Medical Center. She was the widow of David Michael Satterfield.

Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, February 28, 2018 at Sandy Run Baptist Church, Sandy Run Road, Hampton. Interment will follow in Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery.

Born February 8, 1961 in Hampton, she was a daughter of the late Eric Harriott, Sr. and Elizabeth Sheppard Harriott. She was a member of World Harvest Church in Hampton. She liked tennis, loved kids and her favorite color was purple. Most of all, she will be remembered for her laughter and her outgoing personality.

Surviving are: two sons, Brian “Little B” Harriott of Furman and Michael Anthony “Tony” Satterfield of Beaufort; brothers, Eric Harriott, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Hampton, Wayne Harriott and his wife Cathy of Varnville and Scott Harriott and his wife Dawn of Hampton; sisters, Sandra Harriott Manning of Varnville, Glenda Harriott Pike and her husband Barry of Hampton, and Ginger Harriott and her husband Wade of Varnville; and those she loved as her family, Alec and Maggie Murdaugh and their family, Randolph and Libby Murdaugh, and Barbara Ann Mixson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to The American Kidney Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, VARNVILLE-HAMPTON CHAPEL, 1074 Yemassee Highway, Varnville, 803.943.5016.

Gloria supposedly fell over her employer's, the Murdaugh's, dog and fell down the stairs. She died from her injuries. Her employer, Alex Murdaugh promised her sons a settlement and referred her sons to an attorney. They never saw a dime. Murdaugh was indicted on money laundering among other crimes. They eventually pursued it and were awarded 4.3 million.
