MISSOURI – Dan Coy Butler, 90, died on June 25, 2017 in Branson, MO.
A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. June 29 at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel.
A service will be at 10 a.m. June 30 at the Central Christian Church in Nocona with Buddy Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Nocona Cemetery.
He was born in Arlington on Dec. 7, 1926 to Coy Clifton Butler and Edna Mae Davis Butler.
He and Rama Lee Murry were married Aug. 7, 1944. He served his country in Japan in the 32nd Red Arrow as PFC in WWII in the U.S.Army from 1944-1946.
He worked for J.D.Franklin Welding in Nocona. In 1960 the Dan Butler Welding Works was officially begun. He and his wife were also co-owners of The Toggery and Mens II.
He served on the Nocona Water Board, was a 50 year member of Nocona Lodge #753 and Nocona Eastern Star Chapter #62. He served as Worshipful Master of the lodge and Worthy Patron of Eastern Star many times. He was also Deputy Grand Master of the State of Texas. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Knights Templar and 50 year Maskat Shriner.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; one nephew, Russell Don Butler and one grandson, Todd Rice.
Dan is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rama Lee; his children, Rosemary Pribble, Diana Lee Rice, Bryan Rice, Toni Boyd, Rush Pribble and Anja Fields; three grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; nephew; niece; great niece; and two great nephews.
