Ara Helen Shafer, 83, North Fort Myers, died Jan. 12, 2000.
She was born in Pine Level, FL. A daughter of the late Wayne L. and Lutha C. Mace, she moved to Fort Myers in 1924.
She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and the Pioneer Club of Fort Myers.
Mrs. Shafer is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tunis Grace and Carl Rogers of North Fort Myers, her sisters, Buena Neal of Citrua, FL, Lena Lamb of Hollywood, MD; her grandsons, Brian Clemons, Gene and David Rogers; her great-grandchildren, Brian and Billy Clemons, Kaitlin and Kristin Rogers.
Ara Helen was predeceased by her husband Otice T. in 1982, a daughter Melba Jane Clemons in 1985, and sister, LaVerna Thomas 1997.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 - 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
