Born in Upton Massachusetts to John Long Jr & Mary Sarah Taft. Family moved in the early 1770's to Shelburne, Massachusetts. His aunt Margaret (Long) Boyd already resided in Shelburne. Was married to Margaret Harkness in 1785 in Montague. Moved to Hebron, Washington Co, NY by 1790 ( just west of Rupert Vt). Brothers Robert Long & Abner Long both lived in Hebron also. David Long and his own family moved to Pembroke/Corfu area by 1808. Corfu was called Long Corners prior to the civil war.
