His education included: Georgia Tech with an aeronautical engineering degree; George Washington University with a MS degree; the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island; the Industrial College of the Armed Forces; and he was on staff at the Air Force Command and Staff College in Montgomery, Alabama.
He flew 141 combat missions in Vietnam. Recipient of many award, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses, eight Air Medal, sthe Vietnam Gallant Cross, two Meritorous Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He retired in 1980, moved to Cape Coral and started a boat building business, Saint Custom Boats. The Rumrunner boat, buit for the Rumrunner Restaurant is his claim to fame.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Kenny), six children, nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
