David M. Baer, 63, of San Francisco, California died peacefully in San Francisco on April 4, 2017. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania to Carl D. Baer and Doris E. Schrack (nee Schaeffer). After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University in 1977, David moved to the San Francisco Bar Area. He received a master's degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Engineering in 1980. He married Polly in 1978. David is survived by his wife, his brother, his sister, three nephews, seven nieces, and many friends. David was an engineer and manager for General Electric Nuclear Energy, San Jose, California, for 20 years. He later was the knowledge manager at a consulting subsidiary of ADP and closed his career as Vice President of Operations at an energy services firm. David loved music and was particularly fond of playing bass with his cover band, Blind Venetians. He also traveled extensively with his wife, to whom he was married for more than 39 years. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome a donation to the Greater Berks Food Bank or the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The family will hold a memorial service in the near future.
