Mary Beth Bentley-De Von, 61, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Mary Beth Bentley-De Von, 61, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center losing her courageous battle with brain cancer.

She was born Saturday, December 22, 1956, in Springfield the daughter of Addison A. and Mary Elizabeth James Bentley.

She is survived by her husband, Jim (the love of her life), who she married in 1989 in Springfield, Illinois; her cousins, Chris (Larry) Jones of Staunton, Robert (Amanda) Trader of Riverton, Nancy (Randy) Janet of Mechanicsburg, Debra “Sissy” Trader of Springfield and friend, Willy Hill of Springfield.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to our friends and special neighbors (you know who you are!!)

Mary Beth graduated from Springfield College in Illinois in 1988 and UIS (formerly Sangamon State University) in 1993. She previously worked in the clerical field and was a homemaker. She also was an election judge for Sangamon and Macoupin counties and a volunteer for Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth; father, Addison; brother, Norman; and her uncles, Yeuell and Raymond.

She was proud to be called a musketeer. She enjoyed going antiquing and traveling. She liked Elvis and loved animals, especially all of her beloved pets which include our rescue cats and dogs.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control or Roselawn Pet Cemetery.
