Gloria Jean Bowman, 78 of Valparaiso passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was born December 4, 1939 in Chicago, IL to George and Mary (Boros) Erdelyi. Gloria graduated from Fenger High School and Chicago Teacher's College, and worked as an Elementary School Teacher at Worth Elementary School for over 35 years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing piano, watching TV, crocheting, and being sociable with her friends. Gloria will be remembered by her family as a kind and compassionate woman. On December 16, 1961 Gloria married Lloyd Bowman, who preceded her in death in 2011. She is survived by her sister, Carol Anderson of Valparaiso; niece, Susan (Donald) Hirst; great nieces and nephews: Damien, Sydney, Allie, Josie; sisters in law, Reba (Richard) Giberson and Carolyn Bowman of South Haven; many other nieces and nephews, and countless close friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at MOELLER FUNERAL HOME, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with private burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.
