Thomas Edward Bannan was the son of John Joseph Bannan and Mary ("Mae") Elizabeth Griffin.

He married Rita Madison, daughter of James Madison and Bessie Flood, ca 1947; the marriage ended in 1975 in Los Angeles County, California. The couple had six children, five daughters and one son, all of whom are living.

He married Margaret Louise (Smith) [Shipley] Bessey, daughter of William Joseph Smith and Edna Irene Sedgley, on June 14, 1976, in Los Angeles County, California; they were married until her death on November 20, 1982. The couple had no children together.

He married Rosemary Grace (Hanks) Cooper, daughter of Abram ("Abe") Oxley Hanks and Alice Grace Drinkall, on June 30, 1985, in Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon; they were married until his death. The couple had no children together.

MONMOUTH -- Thomas Edward Bannan, 63, died Saturday.
He was born in Laurel Springs, N.J., and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for RCA, Douglas Aircraft and Hughes Aircraft as an artist and writer. He was a writing and photography instructor in Los Angeles and more recently at Chemeketa Community College. He was owner/editor of the Coastal Anchor at Port Orford, and a typesetter for the Goldendale Sentinel, Goldendale, Wash. He worked for Green Thumb in Dallas and Salem.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Independence.
He married Rosemary Hanks on June 30, 1985, in Bend.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, [living] of Imperial Beach, Calif., [living] of Sewickley, Pa., [living] of Santee, Calif., [living] of Torrance, Calif., and [living] of Concord, Calif.; son, [living] of Dolestown, Pa.; stepdaughter, [living] of Woodside, Calif.; stepsons, [living] of Eugene, [living] of Salem, and [living] of Los Angeles; brothers, Vince of Voorhees, N.J., and John of Mount Laurel, N.J.; and sister, [living] of Hodden Field [sic-Haddonfield], N.J.
Mass will begin at 3 p.m. today in the church. Memorial services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the church. Arrangements by Fisher mortuary."
