James "Jim" Stanley Rodgers

James "Jim" Stanley Rodgers, 75, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life and entered Heaven on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
He was born December 12, 1942 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Arch B. and Cecilia A. (Barlow) Rodgers.
Jim graduated from Bartlesville High School and enjoyed going to his class reunions every year.
After high school Jim went to Okmulgee Tech for auto body repair. He joined the Army in 1960 where he proudly served our country starting in basic training in Ft. Hood, Texas, later going to advanced military training at Ft. Know Kentucky and was stationed in Georgia as well as a sixteen month stay in Korea.
Jim was a police officer in Bartlesville, Davenport, and Chandler, Oklahoma as well as reserve deputy for Pottawatomie County.
Jim spent much of his life driving a semi­truck for American Farm Lines, Blue Flame Gas Co and then later became an owner operator. He was forced to retire due to health problem s in 1987. Jim was a member of GPAA and LDMA Gold Prospecting.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as one sister, Johanna Miles.
He is survived by his son, Scott Rodgers of Winchester, VA; his daughter, Shelly Wright of Tecumseh, OK; grandson, Richard Kyle Wright (wife Liberty) of Stillwater, OK and David Blain Wright of Stillwater, OK; and granddaughter, Kirsten Rodger of Winchester, VA; and other extended family and friends.
The family has designated St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St.
Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or WildCare Oklahoma, 7601 84th Street, Noble, OK 73068 as appropriate for memorials in lieu of flowers.
Private family services will be held.
