"Bessie Delores Harston Kirby age 78 of Bowling Green, passed away Sunday morning peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Warren County to the late Robert Stanley and Myrtle Petty Harston.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Charles Harston. She retired from Holley Automotive after 35 years of service, and was a Housewife and Homemaker.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church (formerly Kerr Memorial United Methodist, United Methodist Women, Youth Director and very active in the church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Eugene Kirby. Daughter, Deborah Gillenwater (James) of Scottsville, 2 sons Daniel Kirby and Darron Kirby (Pamela) both of Bowling Green. Sister Jessie Vincent of Clarkson, KY, Grandchildren Kyle Gillenwater, Katherine Gillenwater and Kristine Gillenwater, Bryant Kirby (Jordan), Lauren Kirby, Step grand-daughter Mariah Yates (Adam), great grandchild Evan Kirby, Step great grandchild Silas Yates, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and her Aunts Dorothy Whitmore and Willa Dean Harston.
Visitation will be Monday 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, 9:00 am-8:00 pm Tuesday and after 9:00 am Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bowling Green Gardens. "
