Married his wife, Maureen, on September 27, 1960
They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home and after they retired in 1994 they spent many winters in Florida
He owned and operated McBain Contracting for many years
Survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son, John E. "Jackie" who died in 1981; his brother Edward Jr., and grandson Edward T. McBain
