She was born in Edenborn, Pennsylvania on November 12, 1921.
Prior to Rose Lane she lived in Holgate, Ohio with her daughter, Sheryl for five years, Massillon Ohio for eleven years, and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania for six years. Prior to that, she lived in Orrville, Ohio and Erie, Pennsylvania.
Betty was a beautician and was employed at the Boston Store, was owner/operator of Betty's Beauty Shop and she also worked at Brennfield Nursing Home in Orrville, Ohio, West View Manor Nursing Home in Wooster, Menno Haven Nursing Home in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Rose Lane Health Center in Massillon, Ohio.
Betty was a Sunday school teacher, belonged to Christian Business Women, Faith Baptist Church in Erie, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Smithville, Ohio, Calvary Baptist Church in Massilon, Ohio, and Second Baptist Church in Defiance, Ohio. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, embroidery, traveling, spending time with family and friends. Her self-proclaimed highlight was watching her grandchildren participate in sporting activities. She also loved to volunteer at Rose Lane Health Center doing nails and hair.
She is survived by her son, David J. Rossell (wife, Joan) of Lititz, Pennsylvania, two daughters; Sheryl O'Hara (husband, Jim) of Holgate, Ohio, Margaret Scott (husband, Todd) of Uniontown, Ohio, one sister, Gladys Gilleland of Lascassas, Tennessee, grandchildren; John Rossell of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, Jim Rossell of York, Pennsylvania, Josh O'Hara of Holgate, Ohio, Angie Kirkham of Defiance, Ohio, Michelle Smith of Defiance, Ohio, Braden Scott of Uniontown, Ohio, and Brianne Scott of Uniontown, Ohio, and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Rossell, one son, William Charles Rossell, one grandson, Casey R. Lindberg, her mother, Helen Brownfield-Wright, her father, John Wright, four sisters; Alice Wright, Margaret Hawkins, Myrtle Heyob, Doris Ford, one brother, Harry Wright, and her very special grandfather, Brownfield. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday for the funeral service at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Stephen Olsen.
